Whether you are a parent with young children, or you just love making gifts, the Cuddle Robot Cushion Crochet Pattern is a fun and easy project and makes a beautiful addition to any nursery or child’s room that will be treasured.
Cuddle Robot now features on his own cushion. This pattern is easy to make but not boring, as you watch the little robot quickly come to life by your hands.
It can either be made as a standalone gift or paired with the Cuddle Robot Baby Blanket or the Cuddle Robot Toy (or both!) to make an adorable gift set.
The crochet pattern includes:
- Standard US and UK instructions
- Clear photos to guide you to success
This is an easy level crochet project; it is suitable for those that have practiced the basics of crochet and are ready for their next project. The techniques involved are US single crochet (UK double crochet), US double crochet (UK treble crochet), bobble stitch, chaining, and working in rows.
The finished cushion cover (unfilled) is 14 inches by 14 inches (approx. 35cm by 35cm), to fit a cushion insert 12 inches by 12 inches (approx. 30cm by 30cm).
It can be purchased as part of the Cuddle Robot Baby bundle on Etsy or Ravelry, along with the Cuddle Robot Baby Blanket Crochet Pattern and Cuddle Robot Toy Crochet Pattern. The cushion crochet pattern can be also purchased separately on Ravelry.

If you are anything like me, you love making gifts for your family and friends. So when I found out that my friend was expecting, I was super excited to get the crochet hook and yarn out! I mean, come on, who doesn’t love making stuff for babies!
The gift needed to be stylish but sweet, just like my friend. I also wanted it to be practical as well as pretty. I was also in the mood for a larger project. With lockdown starting and all after-school clubs and socialising paused I had plenty of time in the evenings to devote to my favourite hobby of crochet.
I started to come up with ideas that were both cute and gender neutral, because we didn’t know the gender of the baby. A couple of days and sketches later, I had a shortlist- bobble stitch, squares, hearts, robots. Well, I thought, let’s see what I can come up with.
I knew that I wanted to make a keepsake blanket, something that would be used and treasured for years. However, I also wanted to make something matching that mum could use as well. I remembered what it was like decorating the nursery and getting it to look ‘just right’, I also remember all the night-time feeds and staying with baby. With that in mind I wanted to make a cushion that would look good in the room and support mum as she stayed with the child.
I had already chosen the colours and the design for the blanket, so I used the blanket for inspiration. I kept the colour theme by using the soft grey main colour from the blanket and combined the robot square and border to create an all in one design for the cushion. A little tweaking to get the sizing right and then it was done.

I can’t wait for my friend to see the end result. I had so much fun designing and making the blanket, cushion and toy that I’m already starting to think what I could do next. You can find the crochet pattern for Cuddle Robot Cushion along with the Cuddle Robot Toy and Cuddle Robot Baby Blanket available on Etsy or Ravelry.
