Hi and welcome to My Crochet Wish!

My name is Joanne and like most of you I wear many different hats throughout the week: wife, mother, daughter, employee, and saving the best for last, crocheter. Just another busy woman trying to do all the things.

There are two important lessons I’ve learnt during motherhood:

1. I need crochet in my life to stay sane

2. I love making things for my girls

Hopefully you feel the same way I do. I adore crochet. It’s my go-to after a busy day, as I concentrate on one stitch at a time while my worries and stress melt away. The feeling of accomplishment as I create something beautiful with just a hook and a ball of yarn. The smile on a loved one’s face when they receive my gift made with love. The giggles of my girls as they choose my next project for them.

Life is hectic; take the time to relax and feed your soul. Enjoy the process of creating something special. Whether it’s for you or a loved one, my designs will fill you with joy as you crochet a little ‘me-time’.

Tour of the site

I want to spread the joy of crochet, which is why I created this website to share my patterns with you. You’ll mainly find amigurumi patterns on my site, as my girls constantly badger me to make them more. You should see the size of their collections! However, I’m also starting to branch out into children’s room décor and other items! So many ideas, and so little time. Just go here to access all the available patterns. More patterns are added regularly, and you can always message me if you have an idea that you’d love me to try and design.

For my pattern-collecting friends out there, most of the patterns on this website are available as ad-free printer-friendly PDF’s through Etsy or Ravelry.

For my fellow lefties out there, all blog and PDF patterns come with left-handed and right-handed photos because I know how hard it can be trying to picture it in your head when only right-handed photos are provided.

All my free patterns have been written using US crochet terms. I’ve put together a crochet translation guide for those who are used to UK crochet terms. All purchased PDF’s have US and UK instructions so you can pick the instructions that are right for you.

If you’d like to see what you get inside one of my PDF’s why not sign up for my newsletter? Not only will I let you know when new patterns are available, I’ll also send you my Katie Bear PDF as a thank you present.

If you are on the newer side to crochet check out my tutorials and guides. There are some handy resources to develop your crochet skills and make your creations look even more amazing.

If you want to follow me on social media, then click on the links at the top or bottom of the page.

I can’t wait to share my patterns with you and help you relax and create something beautiful. I’d love to see your finished creations, don’t forget to send me a picture and let me know if I can share it on social media.

Do you have a question that I haven’t covered yet? Message me and I’ll respond as soon as I can.
